About

I believe that art should be a part of everyday life and that it is best experienced in one's own home rather than in a museum setting. That's exactly how you'll see art when you come to visit.

Sculptures and paintings have been my lifelong passion. In the spring of 1990, my parents founded the first-ever private art gallery (named Fany after my late mother) in the Czech Republic. It was such a unique endeavor that our gallery in Český Krumlov was soon visited by a minister of the new post-revolutionary government to witness the new entrepreneurs.

I spent my childhood surrounded by the beauty of the historically rich city of Český Krumlov and living with the best of contemporary Czech art. I made many close friends among our artists. Art also played a central role in my own home, first in Český Krumlov and later in Pilsen, where I currently reside.

Over time, my friends and acquaintances began to seek my advice on selecting art pieces. My home soon turned into a full-fledged interior gallery, naturally continuing our family tradition. Under the brand Friends of Fine Arts, I now present the best of the Czech art scene.

In recent years, I have significantly expanded my activities. In 2015, my husband and I founded the Center for Contemporary Art in Pilsen. In spacious private premises, you can enjoy a rich exhibition of artworks in the authentic context of a modern family home, dedicated exclusively to the presentation of fine art. Artworks are also exhibited in the adjacent garden.

Since 2019, we have been running a gallery in Český Krumlov, now located at our traditional place on Dlouhá 99.

I wish that art enriches and uplifts the lives of each and every one of us.

I look forward to seeing you.

Yours truly, Andrea Škaloudová
