Oldřich Kulhánek

* 26. february 1940 † 28.january 2013

World famous Czech graphic artist and drawer who was a student of Professor Karel Svolinský in his Studio at the Academy of Art Architecture - Design in Prague. Oldřich Kulhánek was the author of the current Czech banknotes as well as many stamps, including the one of the former Czech president Václav Klaus. It may seem unbelievable today, but in 1973 his graphics were sentenced to official liquidation by the judge Petr Stutzig in Prague. Instead of burning these graphics, the judges stole the sheets for themselves. Oldřich Kulhánek had been the President of Hollar foundation.
